How To Add Exponents in Google Docs

An exponent refers to the number of times a number multiplied by itself. We are going to explain how to add exponents in google docs in different ways which are as follows;

Insert Equation
Open the Google Docs and click where you want to insert equation and go to Insert Tab then click on Equation, Select the symbol you want to add. To add new equation click on New Equation option.


Equation Shortcuts
Enter in the equation and add the symbol name and the space bar, you can insert the symbol. To enter superscript or subscript, enter “” and then press Shift + 6 or Shift + – .


Subscripts and Superscripts
We can use the subscripts and superscripts to add the power in the elements in three different ways which are as follows;

1. Insert Tab

Select the element on which you are going to apply Subscript and Superscript then go to Insert Tab and then select Special Character option.


2. Format Tab

Select the element which will be Subscript and Superscript then go to Format Tab and click on Text then Select the Subscript and Superscript.


3. Key Combination

As usual select the element which will be Subscript and Superscript then press CTRL +, (For Subscript) CTRL +. (For Superscript).

To remove subscript press CTRL +, and CTRL +. again.
